This policy explains how Shodh Sagar Private Limited ("Shodh Sagar®", "we", "us") handles personal information collected through this website and in providing our services. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law.
Information we collect
- Details you give us: your name, phone, email, institution, designation, subject area, country and message when you fill in a form, call, email or message us
- Files you send us: manuscripts, data, theses and CVs
- Payment information: the amount and reference of payments. Card and bank details are handled by the payment gateway and are not stored by us
- Visit information: pages viewed, the website that referred you, device type and approximate location (country, state and city) worked out from your internet (IP) address. We count visits without cookies and do not store your IP address with visit records
- When you send a form, your IP address and its approximate location are saved with your enquiry, to help us respond and to prevent spam
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry and provide the services you ask for
- To send quotes, invoices, updates and reminders about your work
- To send newsletters you have subscribed to (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- To keep our website secure and improve our services
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with our team members working on your request, and with service providers who help us run our business under confidentiality obligations (for example our customer management system, email, hosting and payment providers), or when the law requires it. When you ask us to submit to a journal, the journal receives the details its submission process needs.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to serve you and for our records, usually no longer than three years after your last contact, unless the law requires us to keep them longer (for example invoices). Manuscripts and data are deleted on request once the work is complete.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent for newsletters, and raise a grievance. Email us at shodhsagar@gmail.com; we reply within 30 days.
Security
We use secure (https) connections, restricted access and private storage for your files. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
