Plagiarism policy

Our position on plagiarism and how we handle similarity.

Last reviewed: 23 October 2026.

We do not support plagiarism in any form: copying text, ideas, data or figures without credit, or reusing your own published work without disclosure.

How we work

  • We check work with similarity-detection software before submission
  • Flagged passages are rewritten in the author's own words or quoted and cited correctly
  • We follow the limits set by the journal or university. For theses and publications, the UGC's 2018 regulations treat up to 10% similarity (after standard exclusions) as minor
  • We share the similarity report with you

What we will not do

We do not use methods designed to hide copying from software, such as hidden characters, text as images or automatic word-swapping. These are misconduct, and journals detect them.

If plagiarism is found

If we find deliberate plagiarism in work given to us, we stop the work and explain why.
